KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 2, 2015:Allegation saying that DAP was offered RM1.2 billion with ties to Israel was preposterous and individuals who made such lies should be brought to court. Following the claim put forth, Gelang Patah Member of Parliament (MP) Lim Kit Siang released a statement today saying that those who made baseless allegations would have to pay the price and submit to justice in courts. “Senior political leaders from other political parties who lied about the DAP, like the one who made the preposterous allegation about the DAP being offered RM1.2 billion in exchange for an Israeli naval base in Port Dickson, will have to pay the heavy price for such baseless and reckless allegations in the courts. “All political leaders must learn the hard lesson that they cannot just get away with lies or the most preposterous allegations,” he said. Lim added that he expected DAP lawyers to initiate legal proceedings in a day or two following the allegations made. Previously, PAS research director Dr Mohd Zuhdi Marzuki repeated an earlier allegation made by Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng’s former special officer Mohamed Razali Abd Rahman that Israeli intelligence experts were involved to train the G17, or a group of 17 DAP strategists led by Tony Pua and Guan Eng, who had gone back and forth to Singapore to meet with representatives of the Israel embassy. Further allegations made were also claims that DAP had been offered US$300 million (RM1.2 billion) during the last general election and an Israel military base would be built as a reward for capturing Putrajaya. Mohd Zuhdi had also said he was ready to be sued.
