AS we roll towards the end of 2015 and bid another year farewell, one of the biggest questions that come to the mind of partygoers is — where to party on New Year’s Eve? Ring in 2016 with a splash of colour at the PaintGlow Festival. Featuring a mix of local and international acts in the electronic dance music scene, as well as acrobats, Tron dance performances and a load of skin-friendly, non-toxic neon paint this is not a celebration to be missed. Touting itself as a family e event, this is one party that parents can get behind. This is the first time that the festival is heading to Malaysia — and Asia — and is supported by Tourism Malaysia. It’s happening at the Sepang International Circuit Welcome Centre from 3pm onwards.

Starlit Countdown

Join the festivities at the Mutiara Damansara Starlit Countdown where a host of local celebs will take the stage to count down to the New Year. Boogie down to performances by singer and actor Vince Chong, hip hop artiste Joe Flizzow, pop singer Suki Low, musical group Caliph Buskers, musician Mark Adam and girl group De Fam at this family-friendly event.

Ring in the New Year with deejays Joey G, Najee, Gaijin and Terence C at the Avenue K rooftop New Year’s Eve countdown party. Admission is free and the party starts at 6pm. Party with some of Malaysia’s interesting acts at Publika, Malaysia’s foremost public art and creative retail centre.

Entertainer Edwin Sumun will be emcee and host for an evening of music, arts and dance performances. Catch performances by Sabah-based fusion ethnic jazz band Rimba, energetic and eclectic The Maha Jeffrey Band and the Orang-Orang Drum Theatre, as well as a specially commissioned dance performance choreographed by dancer Arif Waran. There will also be food trucks, buskers, prize giveaways as well as a fireworks display during the countdown. The festivities kick off at 5.30pm with Merdekaraya buskers. Admission is free.

Live Fact NYE Countdown

For a more intimate celebration to ring in the New Year, make your way over to one of the Klang Valley’s newest hip places for music Live Fact. Chill out with a stellar electronic/DJ line-up, comprised of Salah Spin, Reddi Rocket, Shoupihou, AOM, Yahna and Shelhiel till the clock strikes midnight. The show starts at 9.30pm. Admission is RM15.
