KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 28, 2015:
Swift Air Cargo has expressed its bewilderment over requirements that Malaysia Airports Holding Berhad (MAHB) has made to prove ownership of the three abandoned Boeing 747s.
According to a report by The Sun today, its chief executive officer, Captain Blue Peterson, asked how much longer they had to verify to MAHB the ownership of the three planes that had been parked at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) for almost a year.
“We (Swift Air) have given them the Bill of Sale and a statutory declaration from the previous owner which was witnessed by a lawyer and stamped by the Malaysian consulate in Hong Kong.
“I don’t know what else they want.
“If they are finding it so hard to verify the documents, they can always ask the Department of Civil Aviation to help them out.”
Peterson further described MAHB as just a “parking attendant” in the report.
Earlier,The Rakyat Posthad reported that Swift Air Cargo had made ownership claims on the three aircraft since June 8 this year.
It was also reported that MAHB had urged the rightful owner to provide the required documents for verification purposes.
