KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 23, 2015:
Malay Armed Forces Veterans Association for Federal Territory and Selangor (PVTM) chief Mohd Ali Baharom, also known as Ali Tinju, will be released on police bail today after being detained for three days.
Kuala Lumpur Crime Investigation Division (CID) chief SAC Datuk Zainuddin Ahmad says that Ali Tinju will be released today and investigation documents will be submitted to the Public Prosecutor for further action.
“The prosecution date is yet to be known.
“Investigation papers will be referred to the Public Prosecutor’s office for further action,” he said when contacted by The Rakyst Post.
Ali, 44, was arrested on Monday following a voice recording on the mobile messaging application WhatsApp titled “‘Pesanan dari Ali Tinju-Ketua Gerakan Merah” (Red Movement chief Ali Tinju’s advice), asking Malays to unite and fight to defend Malays here so as to not ‘suffer’ like those in Singapore.
In the recording, Ali allegedly summoned Malays to intimidate Chinese vendors and businessmen.
The statement was believed to be related to the commotion which occurred at the Kota Raya shopping complex last Sunday.
The Gerakan Merah 1Malaysia (1Malaysia Red Movement) leader will be investigated under Section 4 (1) of the Sedition Act for making statements with the tendency to incite racial hatred or evoke racism in Malaysia.
