SHAH ALAM, Dec 12, 2015:

A suspect who escaped from police custody on Monday was recaptured while hiding in a house in Kampung Seri Gombak Indah, Batu Caves at 1am this morning.

North Klang district police chief ACP Mohd Yusoff Mamat said the suspect, 34, a dangerous criminal, was nabbed in an operation which started at 10pm yesterday and lasted until 6am today.

“Two men were also detained on suspicion of helping the suspect escape, in Paya Jaras, Sungai Buloh,” he said when contacted by Bernama here, today.

He said two motorcycles, five cellphones, clothes and other equipment which were used by the suspects in the escape bid, were also seized.

The suspect who was involved in 29 robbery and snatch theft cases, had escaped with his hands cuffed and was wearing the orange lock-up uniform.

In the incident at 9.35pm, the suspect who was in a van and guarded by a policeman, managed to escape when several other policemen and an officer had gone to the house of another suspect.
