Members of the public who wish to pay their last respects to the late Tunku Laksamana Johor Tunku Abdul Jalil Sultan Ibrahim at Istana Besar this morning are required to be properly attired.
Bernama observed that some members of the public who arrived at the palace as early as 8am were not allowed entry as they failed to follow the dress code set.
Johor Royal Court Council president Datuk Abdul Rahim Ramli at a news conference to announce the passing of the prince yesterday had said that the public were to follow the dress code set.
Muslim males are to wear white baju Melayu teluk belanga and black kain samping with a white band fixed on the songkok while non-Muslim males are to wear black shirt and trousers, tie and black band round the left arm.
Muslim women should wear white baju kurung, batik sarong and white scarf or head cover, while non-Muslim women should wear a decent top, long pants and black scarf or band on the left arm.
Members of the public can pay their last respects between 9am and 11.30am and the VIPs from 11.30am to 12.30pm.
The entry point for the public is the Johor Royal Court Council office gate and for the dignitaries, the Istana Besar gate.
