KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 1, 2015:
1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) president and chief executive officer Arul Kanda Kandasamy will be called again to attend the proceeding on the government investment arm by the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).
When met by reporters at the Parliament here today, Arul Kanda said he would use the opportunity to explain further on the Finance Ministry-owned firm.
Arul Kanda arrived at the Parliament this morning where he attended the proceeding for the first time.
“I was asked to come again to provide further explanations. I will use the opportunity to do just that.
“The date has yet to be set. I will wait for a letter from PAC secretariat,” he said.
“Just like I did in May, I took this opportunity to meet PAC members and I am thankful to the committee for giving 1MDB an opportunity to attend the proceeding.”
Commenting further on today’s proceeding, Arul Kanda said various questions were put to him with regards to the investment firm, from the time it was set up until its operations today.
“But I can’t discuss what was said in front of the PAC.
“What is important is that we give full cooperation to the PAC.”
It is learned that Arul Kanda will be called again on Dec 18 by the committee.
