KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 20, 2015:
US President Barack Obama arrived in Kuala Lumpur this afternoon for the 27th Asean Summit and Related Summits, in what is his second visit to Malaysia.
Obama, who flew in from the Philippines where he attended the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (Apec) summit in Manila, is visiting as a dialogue partner in the Asean Business and Investment Summit 2015.
The Air Force One carrying the American leader landed at around 3.19pm at the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) base in Subang, just outside Kuala Lumpur.
Obama was greeted by the Minister of Agriculture and Agro-based Industry, Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek and a 32-member guard of honour from the First Battalion Royal Malay Regiment led by Captain Mohd Ridhuan Basser.
The motorcade carrying Obama departed from the RMAF base at about 3.43pm, headed for a town hall session with young Malaysians at the Taylor’s University Lakeside Campus in Subang Jaya.
Obama was the second US President to visit Malaysia since Lyndon B. Johnson in 1966, and is now the only President to have visited the country twice.
