KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 16, 2015:
Lim Guan Eng has questioned PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang why he did not question Umno instead on the issue of alcohol and gambling.
Hadi had said that PAS would ensure that DAP does not dominate any one city to prevent them from making “halal” (allow) whatever that is “haram” (prohibited) for Muslims — like legalising alcohol and gambling for Muslims.
“Why is he not questioning Umno and BN? Why is he questioning us?” he said after opening the DAP Taman Templer Community and Service Centre here today.
The Penang Chief Minister said DAP had never said it was going to legalise alcohol and gambling for Muslims.
He said it was Umno and BN that came out with the licensing for gambling.
“It is the sort of slander that Umno is used to.
“What is the difference between PAS and Umno now?
“Umno used to blame us about gambling, but who approves the licences?
“The licence for gambling is approved by BN. So what does it have to do with DAP?”
Lim said PAS was now behaving the same as Umno, which used to blame DAP.
“It’s hypocritical because they are the ones that approve these licences.
“There is no difference between them any more.”
