KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 15, 2015:

All lanes of the Kuala Lumpur – Karak Highway are now open following a mudslide on Wednesday (Nov 11).

The Star Online reported Bentong OCPD Supt Mansor Mohd Nor as saying that the closed stretch of highway was reopened at 1pm with all cleaning work having been completed.

The highway was previously opened in stages, with one lane in each direction opened yesterday for traffic while debris was still being cleaned.

The mudslide near Lentang-Bukit Tinggi at 6.30pm on Wednesday caused a section of the highway to be impassable.

In the incident, three private vehicles and a lorry were stranded in the area, but all the vehicles’ occupants managed to run to safety.

The mudslide also caused 25 occupants of the Pahang Forestry Department quarters to be evacuated to the Lentang mosque.
