KUALA NERUS, Nov 10, 2015:
Terengganu police have refuted claims that enforcement of the law on the East Coast Highway 2 (LPT 2) is unlawful as it is yet to be gazetted.
State CID chief ACP Wan Abdul Wan Hamzah stressed that the 184km route starting from Gemuruh, Kuala Terengganu until Jabor, Kemaman had been gazetted in stages.
He said despite no collection of toll since the LPT 2 was opened, following alignment works, it had been gazetted.
“Comments which have gone viral on the social media claiming police are wrong in taking action against traffic offenders on LPT 2 as it is not gazetted, is untrue altogether.
“I wish to stress that LPT 2 has been gazetted as soon as each stage is completed. The numerous allegations being hurled are incorrect,” he said when contacted by Bernama here today.
He said this in commenting on claims that had gone viral on social media over the enforcement of traffic laws by the authorities on LPT 2.
