KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 4, 2015:

A leaked tanker filled with liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) has caused the closure of the North South Highway (Plus) at the section between Tapah and Gopeng along KM311.

In the 8.50am incident, two LPG tank valves were believed to be leaking.

A spokesman from the Tapah Fire and Rescue Department said they received the call at 8.55am and arrived at the scene 15 minutes later.

Five fire trucks were rushed to the scene to clear the leaked gas.

“Work is still being done therefore the road is still closed for now,” said the spokesperson when contacted.

Road users have been advised to exit to Tapah for those travelling North and exit to Gopeng for those travelling South.
