KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 1, 2015:
It was a health and fitness themed morning for Ministers and government officials today as a number of the country’s prominent figures were seen partaking in energetic and fitness-related activities.
Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein was seen attending the Institut Onn Ja’afar (IOJ) Malaysians United Run 2015 at Padang Merbok, an event organised by the IOJ to commemorate and celebrate the institute’s first anniversary as well as to promote unity and nationalism among Malaysians.
Through several postings made on his official Twitter account, the Sembrong Member of Parliament (MP) was enthusiastic on getting in a workout as he was seen arriving at the event as early as 6am.
The Minister was with his wife, Tengku Datuk Seri Marsilla Tengku Abdullah and their grandchild, Ayden.
Among the photos shared on his Twitter account @HishammuddinH2O were one of Hishammuddin running while pushing Ayden in a stroller.
Also joining in the run were Armed Forces chief General Tan Sri Zulkifeli Mohd Zin, Malacca Chief Minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron, the Defence Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Abdul Rahim Mohamad Radzi and CIMB Group chairman Datuk Seri Nazir Razak.
The marathon also saw the participation of local celebrities such as actor Aaron Aziz and rapper Joe Flizzow and SonaOne.
Meanwhile, partaking in a more vigorous activity, Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaludin was seen on a bicycle ride on the Kuala Lumpur–Karak Expressway.
With an image posted on his official Instagram account, the Rembau lawmaker was spotted wearing a rather striking red and black polka dot jersey, while posing with his bicycle at the Genting Sempah Rest Area.
“Dog’s bollocks,” joked the Minister in the photo’s caption on his official Instagram account, @Khairykj.
As per usual, the energetic Minister’s keen undertaking was enthusiastically praised by his fans as the picture was showered with comments from social media users.
Instagram user, @nonie_as commented: Auww! Abang! Polka dots hari ini. Kita senyum simpul tengok. Terinspirasi untuk exercise hari ini. Gituh! (Wearing polka dots today. This made me smile. Inspired me to exercise today).”
User @ietaramly also made a comment on the ministers fashion taste: “You got taste bro…woot..woot..!!.”
