MELBOURNE, Oct 18, 2015:

A Malaysian national is in custody after being charged with importing two litres of liquid methamphetamine to Melbourne.

Tze Thong Too, 24, was arrested in the suburb of Fitzroy here on Thursday in a joint operation that involved the Victoria Police, Federal Police and Australian Border Force (ABF) officers, the Australian Associated Pressreported.

ABF detected the shipment which came from Hong Kong and China and arrested the man in possession of 680g of crystal methamphetamine, police said.

A Fitzroy restaurant and a Melbourne city apartment were searched following the man’s arrest.

Tze was charged with importation of a commercial quantity of a border controlled drug and was remanded in custody at an out-of-sessions hearing to appear in the Melbourne Magistrates Court at a later date.

Meanwhile, a 31-year-old Malaysian national at the apartment was detained because his visa had expired and taken to the Maribyrnong Immigration Detention Centre.
