KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 2015:
The Cheras-Kajang Highway (Grand Saga highway) will see an increase in its toll prices by 30 or 40 sen effective Oct 15 (Thursday)
According to a statement by the Grand Saga Sdn Bhd today, the new rates will be applicable to all vehicles, save for buses
The toll rate for Class 1 vehicles at the Batu 9 toll plaza will increase by 30 sen. At the Batu 11 toll plaza, it will increase by 40 sen.
Class 1 vehicles are automobiles with 2 axles and 3 or 4 wheels, which includes regular cars, excluding taxis.
Class 4 are vehicles with 2 axles and 5 or 6 wheels, which includes lorries and trailers while Class 3 is for vehicles with 3 or more axles.
The Class 4 vehicles are taxis and Class 5 is for buses.
Earlier today, Bernama had reported nine highway concessionaires in the Klang Valley had announced an increase in toll prices of between 20 sen and RM3 effective Thursday.
The new toll rates will apply to Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway (KLK), Maju Expressway (MEX), Kajang-SILK Highway, Duta-Ulu Kelang Highway (DUKE), and the Stormwater Management and Road Tunnel (SMART).
Toll hikes were also announced for the KL-Kuala Selangor Highway (Latar), Sungai Besi Highway (Besraya), and the New Pantai Expressway (NPE).
In a contrast from previous years, where any announcement in toll prices were made by the government, today the highway concessionaires issued statement separately from their respective companies.
There had been no increase in other motorway concession companies since 2008.
