Police are concentrating the search for the missing Orang Asli schoolchildren along Sungai Nenggiri up till Pos Bulat following the discovery of decomposed remains of a girl who may be one of the seven children reported missing.
Gua Musang Police chief Superintendant Saiful Bahri Abdullah said the search and rescue (SAR) operation was still going on.
He said four SAR teams had been ordered to reexamine the area along Sungai Nenggiri.
“The army has also positioned officers at the site where the remains were discovered.
“We have prepared two boats in the SAR operations at the river as we believe there are new clues based on the discovery of the remains.”
He was hopeful that the children are still alive and asked the public not to create speculation which could impede the operations.
“Don’t link the operation to other elements or crimes. If you involve crime, that involves investigations and my duty is to search.”
