KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 7, 2015:

DAP’s Petaling Jaya Utara MP Tony Pua said Pakatan Harapan (PH) is unable to make a stand on theTrans Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPPA) yet because they do not know the details of the agreement.

He said opinions on TPPA were wide and varied.

“For PH, we have not established a position on TPPA yet. We do not have the details of the agreement.

“The devil is in the details and until we see them we can’t make a stand,” he said at the Parti Amanah Negara fund-raising dinner here today.

He said PH would have to balance out the pros and cons of the agreement before making a decision.

“If the agreement helps our businesses prosper and keeps our government in check, it would be good but if with the agreement our medicine costs go up that would be bad.”

Pua said PH was waiting for details from the International Trade and Industry Ministry before it gets tabled in Parliament.

“Then we want then to show us the entire 2,000-page document so that we can make a decision on it.”
