KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 5, 2015:
Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor warned reporters not to pit leaders against one another.
He gave an example of the visit by Chinese ambassador to Malaysia Dr Huang Hui Kang to Petaling Street, ahead of the supposed riots there on Sept 26, saying that the press, singling out Utusan Malaysia in particular, had twisted the issue.
“When the Chinese ambassador went to Petaling Street, he went in good faith, but Utusan took the blogs of Ronnie Liu and Teresa Kok and twisted it, making it headlines.
“So that became a problem. Please don’t be lazy, work a bit,” he said, responding to reporters after a ceremony in Kepong today.
The Umno Supreme Council member and party secretary general also said that stories surrounding Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman’s slap remarks should have been buried.
“Tajuddin did not mean to slap. This kind of stories, kill it. Why do you keep on stirring this story?” he asked.
