SHARING is caring, and sharing can be very enriching. Based on this adage, the National Culture and Arts Department (JKKN) is organising an Asean-themed cultural event.
As Kuala Lumpur has always been the melting pot of culture and art events, the city will be the location for Festival of Asean Cultural Expressions 2015 (Face 2015) from Oct 15-20 at the centre court of NU Sentral shopping mall.
“The objective of this festival is to introduce the Asean arts and culture to the world.
“It is also to establish the relationship between participants from each of respected countries so that we will able to share and learn from each other through out this six day event,” said National Culture and Arts Department deputy director-general Mohd Razy Mohd Noor.
Face 2015 will involve countries such as Brunei, Cambodia, Philippines, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia.
According to Mohd Razy, 84 participants will be involved in Face2015, a project that was initiated by Asean Committee for Culture and Information (Asean-COCI).
“Face 2015 will also promote the ‘Asean Village’ concept where it will feature three segments for the participants and public involvement. They are divided into arts, traditional games and Visual/Handicraft Art.”
Besides enhancing the idea of sharing cultural heritage to the public and especially youth, JKKN will also like to invite the public to join in a Video Teaser “Face_2015″campaign where public will get to share their videos taken at the festival and upload them on the festival official Facebook page.
A total of 1,000 lucky video uploaders will receive beauty products from PIXY as gifts.
About 20,000 people are expected to attend the festival.
