KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 22, 2015:

The remand for six suspects has been extended by seven days till next Monday as part of the investigation into the murder of Deputy Public Prosecutor Anthony Kevin Morais.

Kuala Lumpur Criminal Investigation Department chief Datuk Zainuddin Ahmad said the extended remand was granted by a Jalan Duta court magistrate.

“This means 11 suspects have been detained to assist investigations in finding the cause and killer of Deputy Public Prosecutor Anthony Kevin Morais,” said Zainuddin in a statement today.

In another development in the case, Zainuddin said one of two of the people police have sought in connection to the case for the past two days surrendered at the Sentul district police headquarters at 4.15pm on Tuesday.

R. Dinishwaran, 23, from Kedah, is now in custody and the application for remand will be made tomorrow.

In the meantime, Morais’ remains will be claimed by his family from the National Institute of Forensic Medicine (IPFN) at Hospital Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday.

His youngest brother, Datuk Richard Morais, said that his brother’s remains will be taken to Nirvana Memorial Park in Sungai Besi, Kuala Lumpur, at 10.30am for religious rites.

His remains were found in a drum filled with cement in a pond in Subang Mewah on Sept 16. He was earlier abducted after a staged accident on a highway while he was on his way from his Menara Duta home to work in Putrajaya on Sept 4.
