KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 8, 2015:
Seven areas recorded unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as at 7am today. According to the Department of Environment’s (DOE) website, the area with the highest API reading is Nilai, at 134, followed by Bukit Rambai (127), Port Dickson (118) and Seremban (114). An unhealthy API reading was also recorded for Malacca (111), Batu Muda in Kuala Lumpur (108) and Banting (106). The API readings in other areas like Tanah Merah, Tanjung Malim, Kangar, Keningau, Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, Tawau, Kapit, Limbang, Miri, Kuala Terengganu and Labuan are good. The air quality in other areas is considered moderate. Air quality with API readings of 0-50 is categorised as good, 51-100 (moderate), 101-200 (unhealthy), 201-300 (very unhealthy) and 301 and above (hazardous).
