KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 6, 2015:
DAP Seputeh Member of Parliament Teresa Kok has lambasted MCA’s Datuk Seri Ti Lian Ker as being another “dead man walking” for his statement about Bersih 4.
The MCA central committee member had told The Rakyat Post that DAP “took over” Bersih 4, which more or less made it a clarion call for Malays to band together.
Teresa told The Rakyat Post that since former MCA vice-president Gan Peng Siew had described MCA President Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai as a “dead man walking” politically, due to his recent statements and stand.
Ti, she said, was definitely another. Ti and Liow are up to no good.
“Ti basically repeats the malicious and baseless headlines of Utusan Malaysiasuch as ‘DAP controlled the Bersih 4 rally’ and it was ‘DAP members who stepped on the leader’s photo’.”
Teresa said Ti knew that Bersih was not about fighting for the Chinese yet he repeated the stand of Utusan Malaysia and Umno.
“He never bothered to criticise the red-shirt guys who threatened to gather on Sept 16 at Bukit Bintang area to slaughter the Chinese.
“Is he a politician who fights for the people’s cause?” she asked.
She said Ti should know that repeating this kind of lies would only make MCA lose more support.
Ti, in a statement today, said Malays still did not trust DAP and would not allow the party to take the driver’s seat.
He also accused DAP of abusing PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang and of being behind the breakaway group led by former PAS deputy president Mohamad Sabu.
Ti said the involvement of churches in Bersih 4, the stepping on Hadi’s photo, burning hell notes at mock altars for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor were “DAP antics”.
