KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 22, 2015:
The termination of Jessica Gurmeet Kaur’s contract was done as per the terms of her service.
Attorney-General Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali told The Star that the legal officer was working on a contract basis and her “contract service was terminated as per the terms of the contract”.
It was earlier reported that Jessica, who holds a Permanent Resident (PR) status in this country, is a Singaporean, and had also had her PR status revoked.
Jessica was a special officer attached to the Attorney-General’s Chambers and was also seconded to the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) Special Task Force.
She had the spotlight shone on her after she was taken into police custody with former Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) oversight panel advisor Tan Sri Rashpal Singh early this month.
They were held for questioning in connection with information leaks into the task force’s probe.
During her tenure with the task force, she was with its secretariat and finance department.
Yesterday, The Rakyat Post reported a source confirming that the Immigration Department had indeed revoked her PR status.
However, there has been no confirmation on whether the order had been served on her in person.
