KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 19, 2015:
Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman threatened to take action against DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang for insinuating he had received money from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s personal bank account.
“On Aug 18, 2015, Lim Kit Siang questioned if I had received money from the Prime Minister’s personal account in relation to the ongoing stories about 1MDB (1Malaysia Development Berhad).
“I did not receive any funds from the Prime Minister’s personal account,” he said in a press statement.
He then threatened to take action against Lim.
“I urge Lim to stop insinuating any wrongdoing on my part without evidence.
“I will not hesitate to take appropriate action if Lim continues in the same vein.”
Lim today stated that former minister and Barisan Nasional Backbenchers’ Club (BNBBC) chairman Tan Sri Shahrir Samad confirmed the posting on the Sarawak Report website last Saturday which named him as one of those who had received funds from Najib’s infamous RM2.6 billion personal account for the 13th General Election campaigns.
He later on went on to name eight ministers and two deputy ministers, Anifah was one of them, and asked them to declare the funds they had received from Najib.
