KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 18, 2015:
No police report has been lodged against PetroSaudi International and hence, no investigation has been carried out by the police.
In a statement issued by Bukit Aman today, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar cautioned for all speculations stating that investigations over PetroSaudi International was underway, to be stopped immediately.
“Following inquiries by many parties, it is confirmed that the police have not received any report regarding PetroSaudi’s alleged misappropriation in Malaysia that will enable the police to carry out an investigation on the company.
“Hence, all speculations regarding the matter should be stopped immediately,” said Khalid.It was earlier reported that the PetroSaudi investment resulted in a gain of over USD488 million. According to a 1MDB statement, “in June 2012, the entire USD1.83 billion amount invested by 1MDB in murabaha notes (in the JV with PSI) was repaid, by way of conversion into shares of Petrosaudi Oil Services Limited, for a value of USD2.22 bil,”
