IMAGINE the fierce and fiery Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and High School Musical star Zac Efron as lifeguards in tight red trunks, running in slow motion.
The upcoming Baywatch film — that rides on the success of the cheesy 90’s American television series — will have this tacky combination alongside a rumoured appearance of an original cast member Pamela Anderson.
Variety reported that the upcoming film — which is apparently taking a comedic approach — will be directed by Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses), while ‘The Rock’ would be co-producing it.
Johnson, in his tweet, sounded thrilled with the movie. He said: “BIG NEWS: Welcoming my dude @ZacEfron to #BAYWATCH. Our movie will be big, fun and RATED R.. Like me when I drink.”
While Efron —who’s grown up a fair bit since his High School Musical days — in his twitter conversation with ‘The Rock’ admitted to being stoked by the idea.
Not much details are available on the upcoming film but it’s expected to start filming early next year.
