SEREMBAN, July 30, 2015:
A police report has been lodged by Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan against the audio clip being circulated said to be of him supporting former Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s call for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak to admit his involvement in the 1 Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) scandal.
The report was lodged at 11am today at the Seremban police station by the Rantau assemblyman’s political secretary.
Mohamad, who discovered about the audio clip last night through his friends after attending a Hari Raya function, said he found the audio clip amusing.
“I laughed at the individual’s failed attempt in trying to impersonate the Negeri Sembilan loghat (accent).”
There were also numerous factual errors in the audio clip.
In the audio recording, the individual who almost had a similar voice as Mohamad, called on Najib to apologise about 1MDB and stated that former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad just wanted the country’s premier to repair the “broken” government.
The recording, Mohamad reiterated, also claimed his father was a teacher, a fact he dismissed, clarifying his late father was a retired policeman.
However, Mohamad said he had no choice but to lodge a police report as many people — specifically from the East Coast states — are unaware of how he sounds.
“I am concerned as I am aware many from Terengganu, Kelantan and Pahang are unaware how I sound like. So I had to do the responsible thing,”
Mohamad said several non-governmental organisations and Umno members from Rembau had also lodged police reports.
“This is a matter concerning me but many asked my permission to lodge police reports,”
He called on the police to apprehend the perpetrator whom Mohamad described as “orang rosak minda” (“sick in the head”).
Such acts, Mohamad stressed, would not deter him from conducting his duties for the state with his aim to complete the Malaysian Vision Valley project.
“I will not lose focus and I believe whoever did this probably was unhappy because the Prime Minister did not visit his house for Hari Raya,” Mohamad quipped.
