KUALA LUMPUR, July 30, 2015:

Datuk Ahmad Maslan has rubbished Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s claim that the Prime Minister had admitted to siphoning RM2.6 billion from 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) funds into the latter’s personal bank accounts, Malay Mail Online reported.

Datuk Seri Najib Razak, the Umno information chief said, had already explained his alleged links to the state investment arm during an Umno Supreme Council meeting.

“That is untrue. There wasn’t any siphoning,” the news portal quoted Ahmad as saying.

The former Deputy Prime Minister was reported to have alleged this in a video that was leaked online earlier yesterday evening.

Ahmad, who was formerly Deputy Finance Minister, was yesterday appointed as Deputy International Trade and Industries Minister.

He spoke after a dinner with the Bumiputera Manufacturers and Services Industry Association here.
