SEREMBAN, July 28, 2015:
Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin declined to address the members of the media on a possible Cabinet reshuffle today.
The country’s number two was seen rushing off following the launch of Matrix Global Schools (MGS), Negeri Sembilan’s largest private education institution.
With speculations rife on the possibility that the Pagoh Member of Parliament might be dropped from his position and replaced by Home Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Utusan Online today reported that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak had presented his latest new Cabinet to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong for consent.
The report said Najib had met Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah to present his new Cabinet line-up to the head of state, whose role is largely ceremonial.
It was believed that Muhyiddin was rushing off to meet Najib on the matter.
In breaking his silence over the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) issue, Muhyiddin was reported to have said that Najib should personally take the lead in explaining the issue to the people.
Speaking at an Umno meeting on Sunday, Muhyiddin said the government should also not underestimate the negative sentiments of the people towards the investment arm.
However, despite backlash from certain quarters, Muhyiddin appeared cheerful when he was flanked by Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hassan as he made his way out of the school building.
