SEREMBAN, July 19, 2015:

A jewellery store at the Terminal One complex was robbed by four armed men within a span of three minutes this morning.

In the 11.30am incident, the Sem Sum Goldsmith store in the shopping mall there was robbed by the suspects, who wore helmets and carried two pistols along with hammers.

“One of the suspect fired a warning shot,” Seremban police district chief Asst Commisioner Muhd Zaki Harun said.

He said no one was injured in the robbery.

The robbers carted away four trays of jewellery.

Muhd Zaki said police had recovered a 9mm slug to be sent for tests to determine if the firearm was used in other robberies.

A video clip of the incident is now going viral. It depicts the three men smashing the showcases and bundling the loot while the fourth man, armed with a pistol, stands at watch.

There was no sign of a security guard in the video.

The robbers made their getaway on motorcycles.

Based on the closed circuit television (CCTV) recording, Muhd Zaki said the robbery happened between 11.44am and 11.47am.

“We’re ascertaining the cost of losses incurred and have initiated a search operation for these men.”

He urged witnesses to assist in the investigations. “This is the first time the outlet was robbed after 17 years in operation.”
