KUALA LUMPUR, June 29, 2015:

Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has urged all Malaysians to put aside their political differences and start helping the Palestinians.

“It does not matter if we are Muslims or not. As Malaysians, we have to unite and help the Palestinians.

“They have suffered for a long time and it’s time we gave them help such as money, spirit and support.”

Zahid said this during the Palestinians’ Cultural Organisation Malaysia (PCOM) Fifth Annual Grand Iftar with the Palestinians in Malaysia at Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) here today.

According to Zahid, Umno had donated US$10 million (RM37.675 milion) for the Palestinians to rebuild Gaza City, which was destroyed by the Israel regime over the years.

“Politicians, too, have come together to help the Palestinians despite our differences such as me, Tan Sri Shahidan Kassim, Datuk Saifuddin Nasution and Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

“So let us all put aside our political differences and help the Palestinians gain back their homeland.”

Zahid, in his speech, also reminded the Palestinians to stand united in fighting against the tyranny of the Zionists.

“As for the Palestinians, I urge all of you to stand united as well. It does not matter if you are Fatah or Hamas. Forget about all of that. Be united.”
