PUTRAJAYA, June 29, 2015:
Deputy Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar said the government had no intention of muzzling the media from reporting on 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB).
He pointed out some media were still making allegations against the government “all the time anyway” concerning the state investment arm.
“The government won’t have the power to muzzle the media on what they want to say,” he said when asked by a reporter today during a press conference.
The lawmaker from Sarawak also said the government was not using the arrest of Swiss national Xavier Andre Justo, who is accused of blackmailing and extorting his ex-employer PetroSaudi International, as an excuse to shrug off responsibility from answering allegations such as those made by the Sarawak Report and other news portals.
