RUMOURS are rife that Ben Affleck will be directing the Batman v. Superman spin-off, titled The Batman, that’s thought to be heading for a November 2018 release date.

Ben Affleck is well known for his presence in front of camera, with significant roles in everything from Good Will Hunting to Gone Girl.

But he’s also been extending his repertoire as a director too, with three feature films to his name.

According to Latino Review, he could be repeating the feat of Argo and The Town by starring and directing in The Batman, which Warner Bros. is said to have selected for a November 2018 release.

That timing would allow it to fill the gap between Justice League Part 1 (2017) and Justice League Part 2 (2019) with another big name superhero film, after Batman v. Superman hits in March 2016.

In addition to a 2018 projection, the outlet links Batman v. Superman, Man of Steel Justice League and Academy Award winning Argo writer Chris Terrio to the project.

If the rumor proves to be true, it could be the third time that that Terrior and Affleck collaborate on as a writer and director pairing, an agreement for Harlen Corben’s Tell No One having done the rounds in 2011.
