PETALING JAYA, June 15, 2015:

The prices of Ferrari and Maserati cars in Malaysia will remain unchanged amid the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and the depreciation of the ringgit.

NAZA World group senior vice president II, 4-wheels division, David Hector Ratnaike, said the sales outlook for the two brands were still healthy and the group aims to sell up to 120 units Maserati and 40 units of Ferrari cars this year.

NAZA Italia Sdn Bhd is the sole importer and distributor of the two brands in Malaysia.

“The depreciation of the ringgit is not something new, and of course certain amount of hedging had been done in terms of our risk management, so as not to make it directly impact our buyers,” Ratnaike said after launching a newly refurbished centre for the two brands here, today.

NAZA Italia has invested RM5 million to refurbish its flagship centre cum showroom located next to the sprawling NAZA Auto Mall.

He said NAZA Italia’s sales and related efforts in handling the brands had managed to maintain its top three position in Southeast Asia and the Pacific region.

“Maserati recorded sales of 96 units in 2014, while Ferrari garnered 40 units. The target set for NAZA Italia this year is achievable based on its continuous efforts and initiatives.”

He said NAZA Italia had gone to great lengths to bring in the latest desirable models of each marque, including the Ferrari 458, Ferrari FF, Ferrari California T, F12berlinetta, and soon, the highly-anticipated brand new Ferrari 488 GTB, as well as Maserati’s Quattroporte, GranTurismo, GranCabrio and Ghibli models.

The company would continue to bring in more new models of the two brands in the coming years, and the new centre will be the platform for broadening the marques’ iconic range of vehicles, he added.
