PUTRAJAYA, June 4, 2015:
Members of the Cabinet who have lost confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak should resign.
“Obviously, there is no purpose in remaining as minister if they do not agree with the Prime Minister’s decisions,” Home Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said today.
“It’s the most honourable thing to do, resign without having to be asked.”
Ahmad Zahid added Cabinet members must show support for the Prime Minister at all times.
“The power to appoint and dismiss Cabinet ministers rests with the Prime Minister. The minister must agree with every decision the PM makes,” he told the media after chairing the ministry’s senior official’s monthly meeting.
Last Friday, Najib had informed his Cabinet members that they could choose to resign if they did not agree with his stand and decisions over 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
