KUALA LUMPUR, June 3, 2015:
Several roads have been closed to the public to allow repair works to be done following road depression which occurred on Sultan Iskandar highway (formerly Mahameru highway) yesterday.
According to city traffic police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Nadzri Hussain, road users coming from Jalan Tun Razak (East) should use instead, alternative routes that are Jalan Kuching, Jalan Damansara, Jalan Kinabalu, Jalan Parliament or Jalan Tun Razak (South). The route from Jalan Tun Razak to Bangsar is also closed and the public should consider using either Jalan Kuching, Jalan Kinabalu, Jalan Damansara, Bulatan Segambut, Jalan Tuanku Abdul Halim or Jalan Semantan. The public is also advised to use Jalan Kuching or Bulatan Segambut to get to the Duta toll (South) from Jalan Tun Razak. For the route from Jalan Parlimen heading South, the public should use Persiaran Tunku Jaafar (Carcosa), Jalan Damansara, Jalan Kinabalu or Jalan Maharajela to avoid the areas that have been closed to vehicles. The road depression happened near the Parliament building where construction works for Mass Rapid Transit tunnel were conducted. Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Azizan Ismail in a statement said that a call had came in at around 6.30pm yesterday, informing them of the incident.
