SWINDON, May 8, 2015:

More than £1 million (RM5.5 million) in cold hard cash has been strewn across a Wiltshire road.

Armed police were called to the scene in Swindon after the lorry broke hard and sent trollies laden with coins smashing through the front of its trailer, according to the Metro newspaper.

The incident took place at around 1.30pm on Thursday.

Sergeant Gemma Vinton, among the first on the scene, said: ‘At the moment we are assisting with traffic control and trying to get to the bottom of what’s happened.

‘My understanding is no other vehicles have been involved in the incident.

‘I am expecting there to be traffic disruption for the 90 minutes. Obviously we will remain here whilse the money is recovered.”
