MUADZAM SHAH, May 4, 2015:
It is hoped that voters in Rompin will ‘make the right choice’ for the future of the constituency ahead of the Rompin Parliamentary by-election tomorrow, says Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate Datuk Hasan Arifin.
He hoped voters would give him a chance to serve them well if given the mandate.
“I hope the voters can make informed choices for the future of Rompin.
“All issues related to the Rompin constituency will be solved if BN continues to be given a chance to win in tomorrow’s by-election,” he told The Rakyat Posthere today.
The native of Kampung Ayau, in Chondon Leban, said the BN election machinery had done its work, in terms of campaigning, to ensure that the seat continued to be held by the ruling coalition.
Hasan has extensive experience as a former deputy chief minister of Pahang from 1995 to 1999 and was a state assemblyman for Bukit Ibam and Tioman from 1986 to 2004.
He faces PAS candidate Nazri Ahmad, 40, in the by-election that is being held following the death of the incumbent Member of Parliament Tan Sri Jamaluddin Jarjis in a helicopter crash in Semenyih, Selangor on April 4.
A total of 52,744 voters are eligible to cast their ballots tomorrow while 464 out of the 545 early voters cast their ballots last Thursday.
