SERI KEMBANGAN, April 5, 2015:Home Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has urged all quarters not to speculate on the helicopter crash yesterday that claimed the life of Rompin Member of Parliament Tan Sri Jamaluddin Jarjis, among others.
Ahmad Zahid said the public should respect the families of those who had just lost loved ones in the fatal crash.
“This is about death. Do not simply speculate or make up news outside the scope of what is necessary. “Doesn’t matter who, from what party, organisation, or individuals, everyone should respect the families,” he told reporters when met at Jamaluddin’s house here today.
Commenting on the investigation, Ahmad Zahid said the police had already cordoned off the crash area along Jalan Sungai Lalang in Kampung Pasir Baru, Semenyih this morning.
“The whole area has been cordoned off and evidence are being collected to assist in the investigation,” he said.
The privately-owned helicopter was ferrying Jamaluddin, Prime Minister’s senior private secretary Datuk Azlin Alias, Jamaluddin’s bodyguard Razkan B Seran and SP Baiduri Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Datuk Tan Huat Seang when it crashed at 4.55pm yesterday. No one survived the crash. The pilot, Captain Clifford William Fournier and his co-pilot Aidana Baizieva also perished.
Jamaluddin will be laid to rest within the vicinity of the Warrior’s Mausoleum in Masjid Negara later this afternoon.
