KUALA LUMPUR, March 30, 2015:
An incident occurred this morning which resulted in the Rapid Rail Monorail service being suspended after a rubber tyre of a two-car train caught fire at the Titiwangsa station.
Confirming the incident, Rapid Rail Monorail chief operating officer Abdul Hadi Amran said no one was in the train at the time.
He said the fire was put out by the Fire Department this morning.
In a separate incident, a four-car train was stranded between the Imbi station and Bukit Bintang station due to technical problems.
A rescue train was dispatched to push the stranded train to Imbi and clear the passengers.
The incidents temporarily suspended monorail services from 8.50am today.
“Rapid Rail is carrying out an internal investigation into both incidents and apologises for the inconvenience caused,” said Abdul Hadi in a statement today.
