KUALA LUMPUR, March 13, 2015:
The blog site of former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is no longer accessible, with a message stating the account has been suspended. Visitors who access the site at chedet.cc will see an empty web page with the message “This Account Has Been Suspended”. It is unknown the reasons behind why the website was suspended. However, as of this afternoon, it was still accessible with Dr Mahathir’s latest posting titled ‘1MDB’, in reference to the country’s sovereign fund 1Malaysia Development Berhad. In it, Dr Mahathir voiced his concern on the attacks against the fund, asking Putrajaya to clear the air with regards to the allegations being made by the Opposition. When contacted, Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) Strategic Communications senior director Sheikh Raffie Abd Rahman said the Commission had no information on this at the moment, but would shed light on the matter if information came in. Dr Mahathir’s blog is hosted by Iweb in Canada, and The Rakyat Post contacted their Support team who said that “the server was recently de-suspended.” “Now we are working to solve a database issue,” the support team said, and checks with the website again shows that it no longer displays the suspended message, but now it says “Error establishing a database connection.”
