KUALA LUMPUR, March 9, 2015:
PAS central committee member Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad has alleged that there are some individuals who have spread a false accusation regarding him by distributing an edited shot of a WhatsApp conversation.
Dr Dzulkefly, who was contacted by The Rakyat Post earlier, said that the conversation did not actually take place and was merely the work of some irresponsible individuals.
“That is not my WhatsApp profile picture and I have never asked such questions.
“That conversation made me appear as if I was questioning PAS information chief Datuk Mahfuz Omar’s credibility.”
He, however, refused to point any fingers as to who was behind the distribution of the print shot which stated that convicted murderer Corporal Sirul Azhar Umar had refused to meet with Mahfuz.
The conversation purportedly of Dr Dzulkefly and an unidentified individual went on to say that Sirul had only wanted to see his family and not Mahfuz, who was leading the “C4” mission.
Mahfuz’s mission to Australia was initially to have Sirul’s expose on who was behind the murder of Mongolian national Altantuya Shaariibuu.
Sirul and Chief Inspector Azilah Hadri were found guilty of the murder and sentenced to death..
However, Sirul was not present during the sentencing and was later found to have travelled to Australia where he was detained by authorities for violating immigration laws.
Australia also has a policy of not extraditing those sentenced to capital punishment as the country does not practise the death sentence.
