KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 6:
Puspakom is offering free vehicle inspection services from Feb 7 to 14 for private vehicle owners at all its 55 branches in conjunction with the Chinese New Year festivities.
Chief executive officer Mohammed Shukor Ismail said the inspection focused more on the aspect of vehicle safety such as the efficiency of the braking system, side slip, suspension and tyre grip.
“By having the inspection, vehicle owners would know beforehand the level of safety of their vehicle before beginning a journey or sending the vehicle for maintenance services,” he said in a statement.
The service would start at 8am until 5pm every day, according to the hours of operation of each branch.
Members of the public can make appointments by contacting the Puspakom branches or contacting the toll-free number 1800-88-6927 for further information.
A similar campaign last year saw about 4,000 private vehicles being inspected.
Perodua too is offering a 50-point free inspection under its Tweckbot project for Perodua car owners travelling to their respective hometowns during Chinese New Year.
President and chief executive officer Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh said Perodua’s customers were also entitled to a 20% discount on selected parts and a special 10% bonus discount for Perodua Circle members.
The carmaker said the free vehicle inspection is divided into two stages with the first from Feb 6-8 in selected locations in Negeri Sembilan
The second stage is after Chinese New Year from Feb 27-March 1 at selected locations in Penang and the Klang Valley.
The Perodua Tweckbot project, which started in 2011, saw the first integration of social media by Perodua customers to secure an appointment for a free inspection of their vehicles at their residence based on the dates and location of the Tweckbot crew.
