SONGSTRESS Jaclyn Victor has finally made an official announcement on her marriage.
The singer-songwriter and actress had apparently tied the knot with a Puerto Rican singer, Shawn Rivera, in a closed-door ceremony at a Philadelphian church in the United States on July 19.
Introducing Rivera at a press conference, after a function in Istana Budaya on Tuesday evening, Jaclyn, 36, says her wedding ceremony was a closed affair and was attended by 35 family members and close friends.
Rivera, 43, is a Grammy-nominated American vocalist, songwriter and producer with R&B vocal group, Az Yet.
Jaclyn has been stringing her fans along with ambiguous postings on her marital status via social media for the past few days.
Daily tabloid Kosmo! reports that Jaclyn preferred to keep her personal matters a secret and the wedding was a covert affair as requested by her mother.
“We met here in Malaysia (in January) when Shawn was down to record Magical Moments, a soundtrack from the film Ribbit,” says Jaclyn in the report.
She adds that it was love at first sight for both and that the couple were maintaining a long- distance relationship since January.
Jaclyn shot to fame after winning the Malaysian Idol and Ikon Malaysia for her vocal prowess.
Her first album with KRU Muzik, Ikut Rentakku (2012) bore the hit single of the same title that enabled Jaclyn to win Best Vocal Performance and nominated for Best Song at Juara Lagu 2014.
After a high-flying career here, Jaclyn recently announced her Hollywood venture to launch her latest single entitled Remedy.
