KUALA LUMPUR, July 20:

TheWall Street Journal‘s Facebook page was temporarily hacked today and fake reports were posted which were later deleted when the news organisation regained control.

“We are aware that our Facebook page was compromised during the last 20 minutes. We have deleted the posts and are looking into it,” read a post on the Facebook page.

Among the reports which made it online for a few minutes read: “US Air Force One crash feared as air traffic controller loses contact with pilot over Russian air space.”

Air Force One is the name given to the United States President’s aircraft.

Minutes later, another post read that United States Vice-President Joe Biden would be addressing the nation.

Both posts are no longer on the page.
