UNIQLO, a renowned fashion brand from Japan, aims to strengthen its business in Malaysia by opening outletsin Sabah and Sarawak as well as states in the east coast.
Operations manager Yuichi Ito said the expansion plans are aggressively underway as Uniqlo is always looking for opportunities to expand its business in this country.
“Uniqlo has opened 17 outlets in this country including the latest store in this city. We have opened eight outlets this year alone,” he said after opening the Uniqlo store at the Johor Baharu City Square complex here.
Ito said the biggest Uniqlo store in Malaysia at present is located at Fahrenheit 88 in Kuala Lumpur and the company is currently looking for a suitable location to build its main boutique store in the country.
The opening of the Johor Baru outlet was the company’s third store outside the Klang Valley after Penang and Malacca, he said.
