KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 27Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor today said she enjoyed fashion and donning nice clothes, but was becoming afraid of criticism from the people. She said she tried to be of service to the people and did not know why people criticised her for everything she did. “I try to be of service to the rakyat,” she told the media and those attending the launch of the 2014 National Craft Day at the Kuala Lumpur Craft Complex here.
This is an annual celebration to recognise Malaysia’s traditional crafts and craftsmen.
Confessing her love for fashion and bright-coloured batik prints, Rosmah said her position and responsibility as the wife of the Prime Minister meant that there was less time for her to indulge in her own interests. “I love playing badminton, but now it is hard to find time to play as I believe my time should be spent in service to the Malaysian public.”
The theme for this year’s celebration isSumber Alam Nikmat Keharmonian, which refers to the nation’s local resources used in crafts and the spirit of 1Malaysia reflected in the sharing of resources by all races in the country.
