A state of crisis was declared in Negeri Sembilan on Wednesday as thousands of households are without water.
It was reported that several water catchment areas in the state are drying up.
Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan said it had not rained in 2 months, causing water level at 7 dams to reach critical levels, as reported byThe Star.
Efforts are also being coordinated by Negeri Sembilan’s Natural Disaster Operations room to supply treated water to affected consumers.
“We have not had any rain here over the past two months and this has caused the water level at our 7 dams to reach critical levels.”
To date, 8,000 households have been affected by the water shortage in Sendayan, Rasah, Mambau and Seremban.
The state is hoping to carry out cloud seeding to induce rain over catchment areas.
