Pakatan Rakyat has come under attack for attempting to blame Barisan Nasional for the problems it is facing in Selangor.
MCA Deputy President Datuk Wee Ka Siong said PR had an overwhelming majority in the state, so there was nothing Barisan could do to threaten its position.
“They are looking at making us the scapegoat for their problems in the state. The only thing that is happening there is the fight between the two taikos (Menteri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim and PKR Deputy President Azmin Ali).”
He said the Menteri Besar should be able to handle the problems in the state given the big majority PR held.
Wee said MCA was amazed by statements made by Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and PKR Director of Strategy Rafizi Ramli, who had been claiming that Barisan was attempting to cause trouble in the state by playing the race and religion card.
“PKR needs to find a reason for calling for a by-election in Kajang and BN is an easy mark for them.
“Pakatan should stop blaming others. They need to inform the people the reasoning behind the calling for a by-election,” Wee said at a press conference after presenting ang pows to welfare homes and the underprivileged on behalf of MagnumCares on Thursday.
On the candidate for the Kajang state seat, Wee said the division had already presented three names to the party leadership.
He said they had received calls and feedback on who the people think would be a good candidate.
Wee said the party was carrying out a scientific evaluation to see who was best suited for the job.
He said once the the list had been narrowed down, party president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai would meet Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
