It has been reported that 20 Johor FA officers will lodge a police report Tuesday afternoon over an alleged incident that occurred at Stadium Larkin, Johor, last Saturday.
The incident was reported to have happened during half time of a game between Johor Darul Ta’azim (JDT) and T-Team.
New Straits Timessaid that the officers would give their statements on what transpired in the incident.
Earlier, T-Team’s striker Evaldo Goncalves, defender Fabio Flor de Azevado, fitness coach Stefano Impagliazzo and club chief operating officer (COO) Mohd Syahrizan Mohd Zain lodged reports at the Kuala Terengganu district police headquarters on Sunday.
The Starhad said the reports “were lodged to ensure the safety of T-Team’s players and named the president of the Johor FA as the perpetrator”.
In the report, Goncalves alleged he was punched in the nose by the top official while Impagliazzo was kicked in the groin by the official’s escort.
The match was abandoned after T-Team refused to return after the break, instead boarding their bus out of the stadium.
De Azevado alleged he was verbally abused and threatened by the same official.
Meanwhile,The Staralso quoted the secretary-general of the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM), Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin, as saying that there would be no tolerance towards those found guilty of the incident at Stadium Larkin.
If found guilty, FAM insisted that the high-ranking official would be punished according to the disciplinary code.
The punishment may be a 12-month ban and a RM8,000 fine.
Hamidin clarified that the Competitions Committee would meet on Thursday to decide on the outcome of the abandoned match.
